Helpful Instructions for Common Tasks
Get District Email on Your Phone
Now that we're a Google district, the easiest method would be to install the Gmail app from the app store. However, if you would rather use the native email client, please follow the instructions below.
Apple iPhone Instructions (Gmail app)
- Tap "Settings", then "Apps", then "Mail", then "Mail Accounts".
- Tap "Add Account", then tap "Google".
- Enter your current email address and password, then tap "Next".
- Choose whether or not you want your piper contacts and calendars to sync to your phone.
- Tap "Done".
Android Instructions (Gmail app)
- Tap "Settings", then tap "Add Accounts".
- Enter the following information:
- Your district email address
- Your email password
- Tap "Next".
- Tap "Google".
- Tap "Next".
Connecting to Wireless Network
If you have a District email address and password, you can connect your personal device to the wireless network. Please follow the instructions below for your device type.
Windows Laptop
- In the Windows system tray, click on your wireless adaptor icon.
- Click on the Enhanced Guest network.
- You will be asked to sign in:
- Use your existing district issued email address and password
- You then need to open a browser and try to go to google.com.
- You will be asked to agree to the wireless policy. Click "I Accept".
- Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
- Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites
- Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
- Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.
Apple MacBook
- At the top of the screen, click on your wireless adaptor icon.
- Click on the Enahnced Guest network.
- You will be asked to sign in:
- Use your existing district issued email address and password.
- You then need to open a browser and try to go to google.com.
- You will be asked to agree to the wireless policy. Click "I Accept".
- Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
- Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites.
- Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
- Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.
Google Chromebook:
- Click on the System Tray on the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Click where it says "No network" to bring up the list of available wireless networks.
- Click on the network labeled Enhanced Guest.
- For EAP Method, choose: PEAP
- For Phase 2 Authentication, choose: MsCHAPv2
- For Server CA Certificate, choose: Do Not Check
- For Identity, enter your district email address.
- For Anonymous Identity, enter your district email address.
- For Password, enter your email password.
- Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
- Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites.
- Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
- Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.
Android Mobile Device:
- Open your Settings, then WiFi
- Tap on Enhanced Guest
- For EAP Method, choose: PEAP
- For Phase 2 Authentication, choose: MsCHAPv2
- For Server CA Certificate, choose: Do Not Check
- For Identity, enter your district email address.
- For Anonymous Identity, enter your district email address.
- For Password, enter your email password.
- Click Connect.

- Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites.
- Go to http://securly.com/ssl.

Apple Mobile Device
- From the Home Screen, tap the Settings icon
- Tap the Wi-Fi icon .
- Tap on the Enhanced Guest network.
- You will be asked to sign in:
- Use your existing district issued email address and password.
- Click Trust for the "KS-AS-DC1" certificate.
- You cannot join the wireless without trusting this certificate.
- Wait and a new windows will open: click "Continue to the Internet"
- If you miss this window or close it, just open Safari and navigate to google.com
- Once you have successfully authenticated to the website, you need to install the SSL certificate for Smoothwall:
- Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
- Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.
