School Nutrition Program

2022-2023 School Year Free/Reduced Application:

On March 10, 2022, the U.S. Senate passed the Omnibus Appropriations bill that funds the federal government through September 2022. This bill does not extend pandemic child nutrition waivers for the 2022-2023 school year term.  This means that USDA will no longer have authority to provide allowances for schools to serve free meals to all students, or extend the broad regulatory flexibility for Child Nutrition Programs that we have had in place the last two school years.

As a result, School Nutrition Program Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications will be required to determine eligibility for free and reduced-price school meals for the 2022-2023 School Year.  Free/Reduced Meal Service Applications can be found on your Family Skyward Account.  Please follow these directions in order to complete a Free/Reduced Application:

  1. Sign into your Family Skyward Account
  2. Once signed in, select one of your student’s names at the top
  3. Click on Food Service on the left-hand side
  4. On the next pop up, you will click on the small word “Applications”
  5. On the next pop-up screen, click on “Add Application”
  6. Complete each step of the application
  7. Review and submit

If you have any further questions or concerns about your application, please contact Sarah Dunn at the District Office at 913-721-2088 or sdunn@piperschools.us.
