Mrs. Bilee Jo Grable
Piper Elementary Principal
Hello, my name is Bilee Jo Grable.
I am excited to return as your principal at Piper Elementary!
This will be my tenth year in administration. Nine of the ten years as an administrator were served in the Piper School District. This will be my 26th year in education. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-9 from Saint Mary’s College. I completed my Masters of Arts in School Leadership PreK-12 from Baker University. I have taught Kindergarten, First, and Second grade. I have been a K.A.L.L. (Kansas Accelerated Literacy in Learning) Teacher, 3rd-5th grade Title 1 Reading Teacher, Literacy Coach, PreK-5 Instructional Coach, and PreK-5 School Improvement Facilitator.
I thought since I am going to be spending time with many of your children you might want to know a little about me. I am married to Jeff Grable and we have three wonderful kids, Brooke (26), Hunter Jo (22), and Beau (19). Now that the two older girls can run themselves around, I spend most of my time watching my son play baseball for Emporia State. When I do get some time to myself, I enjoy walking, swimming and reading.
I expect our students to always do their best! I have high expectations for them but I believe in taking small careful steps in order to get them to the next level about feeling good about themselves. I think that the students who are excited about school learn more! So, I try and make school as fun and engaging as I can while cultivating lifelong independent learners.
I am excited about supporting your child’s growth this year and to be a part of the
Piper School District!
Excellence can be attained if you…
…CARE more than others think is wise
…RISK more than others think is safe
…DREAM more than others think is practical
…EXPECT more than others think is possible
Mr. Jason Malaschak
Piper Prairie Elementary Assistant Principal & District Data Coordinator
Hello, Piper Nation! This is my 24th year in education. I graduated from Emporia State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics which included five semesters in elementary education and three years playing on the ESU hockey team. I spent 14 years in the classroom serving as a mathematics teacher at Emporia High School in Emporia, KS. During that time, I taught everything from Basic Math to Trigonometry. I also served as an Administrative Intern as well as Head Coach of the girls' soccer team. I earned my Masters in Education Administration from Emporia State in 2005.
In 2011, I moved my family to Piper to be the Assistant Principal at Piper High School. After four years, I became principal of PHS. I am now very proud to move my career full circle back into elementary education here at Piper Prairie Elementary School while also serving as the District Data Coordinator for Piper. I am very excited to work in this great school with the best teachers, staff, and students in the state!
My family consists of LeAnn, my wife of 22 years, and my three sons, Asher, Jonah, and Silas, all attending school in Piper. When I'm not at school, I am usually with my family at soccer practice, on the golf course, or at Sporting Kansas City games. Go SKC!
