DEIB Initiatives

Blaze - Inclusion Council

Our District's Inclusion Council is called BLAZE, which stands for Building Latitude, Access, and Zeal through Equity. Some of BLAZE's initiatives within the District include the mentoring group Pirate PALS, monthly Read & Plays focused on diverse literature and social-emotional learning, and various building-specific efforts at each of our school sites.

4tified Student Leadership

Through a professional facilitation process, 4tified Student Leadership is aligning student engagement with the training that BLAZE members are receiving from 4tified as well. In this program, students will gain the skills, training, and empowerment necessary to help recognize educational disparities and become active contributors to improvement efforts.
