Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)
What is Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)?
DEIB stands for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Our DEIB efforts are all connected to and in support of our District's core values (the first being Inclusivity), our District's Portrait of a Graduate (specifically Social, Global, and Cross-Cultural Skills), our District's Strategic Plan (specifically Goal #2: Connected Culture Among All), and our District's Balanced Scorecard which is how we keep ourselves accountable with regards to preparing each and every one of our students for a successful future.
The Piper School District’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging efforts are all created in support of the District’s Strategic Goal #2: Connected Culture Among All. The Priority Outcome is that staff and students advance a climate that fosters inclusion by embracing diversity and disrupting inequitable practices throughout the educational system.
DEIB efforts impact our students and community in Piper by creating a culture and climate that is fertile for student growth and community inclusion. Over 27 languages are spoken throughout the district and we are preparing our students to work respectfully in an ever-changing world, to learn from folx who are different from themselves, and to leverage cultural differences in a way that sparks innovation.
