Instructions for Connecting Your Device to Enhanced Guest WiFi

  • When connecting your device to the District's wireless network, please follow the instructions below for your device.  If you require assistance with connecting, you may reach out to the admin staff in your building, or email me directly and I will help you get set up.

     

    Windows 10 Apple PC Windows Mobile Android Mobile Chromebook Apple Mobile

     


    Windows 10 PC:

    1. In the Windows system tray, click on your wireless adaptor icon.
    2. Click on the Enhanced Guest network.
    3. You will be asked to sign in:
      • Use your existing district issued email address and password
    4. You then need to open a browser and try to go to google.com.
      1. You will be asked to agree to the wireless policy.  Click "I Accept".
    5. Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
      • Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites
      1. Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
      2. Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.

     


    Apple PC:

    1. At the top of the screen, click on your wireless adaptor icon.
    2. Click on the Enahnced Guest network.
    3. You will be asked to sign in:
      • Use your existing district issued email address and password.
    4. You then need to open a browser and try to go to google.com.
      1. You will be asked to agree to the wireless policy.  Click "I Accept".
    5. Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
      • Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites.
      1. Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
      2. Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.

     


    Windows Mobile Device:

     


    Android Mobile Device:

    1. Open your Settings, then WiFi
    2. Tap on Enhanced Guest
    3. For EAP Method, choose:  PEAP
    4. For Phase 2 Authentication, choose:  MsCHAPv2
    5. For Server CA Certificate, choose:  Do Not Check
    6. For Identity, enter your district email address (ex: JohnSmith@piperschools.us).
    7. For Password, enter your email password.
    8. Click Connect.
    9. Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:
      • Without this certificate, you will not have access to secured websites.
      1. Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
      2. Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.

     


    Google Chromebook:

    1. Click on the System Tray on the bottom-right corner of the screen.
    2. Click where it says "No network" to bring up the list of available wireless networks.
    3. Click on the network labeled Enhanced Guest.
    4. For EAP Method, choose:  PEAP
    5. For Phase 2 Authentication, choose:  MsCHAPv2
    6. For Server CA Certificate, choose:  Do Not Check
    7. For Identity, enter your district email address (ex: JohnSmith@piperschools.us).
    8. For Password, enter your email password.
    9. Once you have successfully authenticated to the wireless network, you need to install the SSL certificate for Securly:

      1. Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
      2. Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate. 

     


    Apple Mobile Device:

    1. From the Home Screen, tap the Settings icon
    2. Tap the Wi-Fi icon .
    3. Tap on the Enhanced Guest network.
    4. You will be asked to sign in:
      • Use your existing district issued email address and password.
    5. Click Trust for the "KS-AS-DC1" certificate.
      • You cannot join the wireless without trusting this certificate.
    6. Wait and a new windows will open: click "Continue to the Internet"
      • If you miss this window or close it, just open Safari and navigate to google.com
    7. Once you have successfully authenticated to the website, you need to install the SSL certificate for Smoothwall:
      1. Go to http://securly.com/ssl.
      2. Watch the video and follow the instructions on the page to install the certificate.
