Enrollment opens at 12:00am on February 13, 2023
Please take note of updated residency policy:
Proof of residency for all prospective students is required at the time of enrollment. An original copy of proof of residency must consist of any three of the following:
1. Documentation of home ownership in the name of the caregiver;
2. Documentation of a rental or lease of residential property in the name of the parent/caregiver that includes landlord contact information and the names of all tenants living in the residence;
3. Property tax statement in the name of the caregiver;
4. Proof of BPU or ATMOS utility service to the residential property in the name of the caregiver;
5. Driver’s License with current address of home owner and/or parent and/or guardian with residency in Piper School attendance boundaries; or
6. Court Order or other Official documentation of the prospective student’s custodial status;
7. Verification by a school official employed by USD 203.

Use this form to order breakfast for your child at school. Orders are due every Sunday at 11:59pm.

Curriculum Overview
Our school uses the Kansas Early Learning Standards to guide our instruction along with the Connect 4 Learning (C4L) curriculum. The curriculum includes literacy, math, science, social studies, as well as social emotional skills. The curriculum is embedded through play. Our students also participate in Kindermusik daily. Each class has circle time, table time, centers, outdoor play, and outdoor learning. Our students will be Kindergarten ready by the time they exit our program. There will be grading periods to report progress on the district schedule quarterly.

The Piper Pre-K program is a five-day a week program (Monday - Friday) for the 2022-2023 school year.

Friday/Late start 8:50 Doors open, 9:00 classes begin, 3:20 Dismissal
Morning Half-Day Program:
Mon.-Thurs 8:10 Doors open, 8:20 classes begin, 11:10 Dismissal
Friday/Late start 8:50 Doors open, 9:00 classes begin, 11:10 Dismissal
Afternoon Half-Day Program:
Mon.-Thurs 12:20 Doors open, 12:30 classes begin, 3:20 Dismissal
Friday/Late start 1:00 Doors open, 1:10 classes begin, 3:20 Dismissal
Enrollment is open to all children who are eligible to attend the Piper USD 203 and who will be age 3 or 4 before August 31 of the year of enrollment. All children must have immunizations completed and a physical completed before entering the program.

School lunch is served family style. Students have the option to order lunch from school or bring a lunch from home.

Program Fees for 2022-2023 school year (Monday-Friday)
Fees for the Piper Pre-K full day classes are: $570.00/month
Fees for the Piper Pre-K 3 and 4 year old half day classes are $310.00/month
**There is a $25 enrollment fee for every student**
Tuition Assistance available through the Kansas Preschool-Aged At-Risk Grant
Children must meet one or more of the at-risk criteria listed below. Documentation for the criterion met for each child will need to be available for auditors.
- The family qualifies for the free lunch program.
- The custodial parent is unmarried at the time of enrollment.
- The student has been referred by the Division of Children’s Services for educational services.
- At least one parent was a teen when the student was born.
- At least one parent is lacking a GED or high school diploma at the time of enrollment.
- The student has limited English proficiency-based on assessments.
- The student qualifies for services under the Migrant Education Program.
- The student is developmentally delayed based on assessments but not at the level of qualifying for special education services.
- Child experiencing homelessness

Eligibility and Waiting List
Students must reside in the Piper USD 203 School District. Proof of residency will be required upon enrollment. A waiting list will be maintained for children waiting for an opening in the program. When an opening occurs, the next child at the top of the Pre-K waiting list will be called. If they are no longer interested, then we will call the next in line.

Transportation
Transportation services through the district’s school bus program is available for the 4 year old class students only. These buses are equipped with seat belts and/or harnesses. For the 3 year old program, parents/guardians will be responsible for providing transportation to and from the school. For half-day students, There are no mid-day busses. If you have any questions regarding transportation, please call DS Bus Lines at 913-721-9019. Parents or a responsible adult must be visible at the bus stop in the afternoon, or your child will not be allowed to exit the bus and will be returned to the office for pick-up.
