The Piper Educational Foundation was established in the summer of 2007 to compensate for the lack of state funding provided by tax-based support of local public schools. The Foundation was developed so that supplemental resources and private funds could be secured and distributed for the purpose of promoting educational excellence within the district.

The Piper Educational Foundation is an autonomous non-profit and tax-exempt organization managed by the Community Foundation of Wyandotte County, an affiliate of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. The purpose of the Piper Educational Foundation is to support, maintain, and improve educational projects and vital support services for the district's students.
